Regular Season Round 23: Minas - U.Corinthians 97-82

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Minas (15-3) beat 15th ranked U.Corinthians (4-12) in Belo Horizonte 97-82. Minas shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international Gui Santos (202-2) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks. The former international power forward Renan Lenz (207-90, college: Utah) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Minas players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Lucas Machuca (185-92) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and American guard Grantham Gillard (193-97, college: Arkansas St.) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Minas. They maintain third place with 15-3 record having just three points less than leader Sesi Franca. U.Corinthians at the other side dropped to the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
