Important game to mention about took place in Montevideo. Seventh ranked Penarol (9-6) saved a 3-point derby victory at home edging 6th ranked Olimpia (8-7) 77-74 on Monday evening. Penarol brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American center Lee Roberts (203-87, college: Findlay, OH) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import John Flowers (200-89, college: WVU) helped adding 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Penarol's coach Pablo Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Canadian forward Ryan Ejim (201-93, college: Carleton) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Brian Garcia (182-90) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Penarol moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Malvin. Olimpia at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost.
