Regular Season Round 37: Racing - Bahia 76-70

No shocking result in a game in Chivilcoy where fifth ranked Racing (7-4) defeated 12th ranked Bahia (4-8) 76-70 on Tuesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Racing dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Bahia's 34. They outrebounded Bahia 44-29 including 35 on the defensive glass. Joaquin Gamazo (198-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and Carlos Baez (-93) chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Ezequiel Paz (190-1, agency: Interperformances) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and Brazilian center Gabriel Novaes (208-1) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Bahia's coach Laura Cors tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Racing. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bahia lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Racing will meet Del Progreso (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bahia will have a break next round.
