Regular Season Round 24: Pato Basquete - Flamengo 87-93

Very expected game in Pato Branco where 9th ranked Pato (8-11) was defeated by second ranked Flamengo (17-2) 93-87 on Thursday. Flamengo made 20-of-20 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Rafael Mineiro (208-88) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Yago Matheus (173-99) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Augusto Leao (184-98) who recorded 18 points and point guard Matheusinho Brito (184-0) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Flamengo and five Pato players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Flamengo have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 17-2 record having just three points less than leader Sesi Franca. Loser Pato keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Flamengo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pato will play against Minas (#3) and hope to secure a win.
