Regular Season Round 24: Boca - Obras 77-61
Date: February 4, 2022
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Buenos Aires: Boca (#4) and Obras (#7). Boca (13-5) smashed visiting Obras (11-8) by 16 points 77-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obras. They outrebounded Obras 40-25 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Boca especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Carlos Buendia (177-95) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Boca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Keith Stone (203-97, college: Miami, FL, agency: Duran International) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-94, agency: Duran International) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boca maintains fourth position with 13-5 record. Loser Obras dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Boca will meet at home league's second-placed Penarol in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Obras will play against Gimnasia (#3) in Comodoro Rivadavia and hope to secure a win.
