There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Del Progreso (5-7) defeated higher ranked Racing (7-5) in General Roca 92-80 on Friday. Del Progreso looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Ezequiel Dupuy (185-97, agency: BIG) notched 24 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and forward Facundo Sanz (197-96, agency: BIG) supported him with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Del Progreso's coach Juan Marcos Kass used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by point guard Adriano Maretto (189-99, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Racing. Joaquin Gamazo (198-91) added 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Five Del Progreso and four Racing players scored in double figures. Del Progreso moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Salta Basket. Loser Racing dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Del Progreso will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Racing will play against Dep Viedma (#3) in Rio Negro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
