Regular Season Round 21: Instituto - Quimsa 74-77

The most exciting game of round 21 in the LDD took place in Cordoba. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Instituto (16-7) to eleventh ranked Quimsa (11-9) 77-74 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Quimsa outrebounded Instituto 45-31 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Lucio Longoni (205-1) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Francisco Corradi (187-3) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Five Quimsa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Juan Frontera (178-2) with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Lautaro Urquiza (177-1) scored 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Quimsa have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Instituto at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Quimsa are looking forward to face Union (#11) in Santa Fe in the next round. Instituto will play at home against the league's leader Comunicaciones (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
