Regular Season Round 24: San Martin - Platense 71-67
Date: February 6, 2022
No shocking result in a game in Corrientes where eighth ranked San Martin (12-8) defeated 17th ranked Platense (6-15) 71-67 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. San Martin outrebounded Platense 39-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international Javier Saiz (206-94) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Emiliano Basabe (195-92) who added 8 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. San Martin's coach Diego Vadell used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) with 31 points and the former international power forward Alejandro Alloatti (203-84) scored 10 points. San Martin moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Regatas. Platense lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Union SF. San Martin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Corrientes to the arena Regatas.
