No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Boca (14-6) beat 11th ranked Riachuelo LR (11-11) in La Rioja 86-81 on Monday. The former international Leonel Schattmann (193-87) nailed 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Boca players scored in double figures. Boca's coach Gonzalo Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) came up with 34 points (!!!) (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international forward Pablo Espinoza (201-87) added 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Riachuelo LR in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Boca. They maintain fourth place with 14-6 record. Newly promoted Riachuelo LR keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Obera. Boca will meet San Martin (#7) in the next round. Riachuelo LR will play against Instituto (#5) in Cordoba and hope to secure a win.
