Regular Season Round 25: Union SF - Quimsa 88-80

Fifth defeat of league's leader Quimsa (16-5) against sixteenth ranked Union SF (8-15) 88-80 was the most important game of the last round. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Gaston Bertona (176-1) who helped to win the game recording 14 points. Daniel Hure (200-85) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) answered with 14 points and the former international Ivan Gramajo (193-96) added 14 points in the effort for Quimsa. Union SF moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Platense. Quimsa at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Gimnasia. Quimsa will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Union SF will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Regatas in Corrientes.
