Regular Season Round 26: Minas - Corinthians 91-88

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Corinthians (7-15) was edged by third ranked Minas (18-3) in Belo Horizonte 91-88 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The former international guard Gui Pereira (192-91) notched 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Malcolm Miller (201-91, college: Southern) did not help to save the game for Corinthians. American-Peruvian guard Kyle Fuller (184-92, college: Vanderbilt) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Minas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Corinthians dropped to the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. Minas will meet at home Paulistano (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Corinthians will play against Rio Claro (#8) and hope to secure a win.
