Regular Season Round 10: Los Leones - Temuco 106-56
Date: February 13, 2022
Bottom-ranked Temuco (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 106-56 loss to second ranked Los Leones (7-1) in Quilpue. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Temuco's 22. They outrebounded Temuco 44-19 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Los Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Temuco's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican forward Justin Satchell (203-95, college: St.Leo) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 6 rebounds. International forward Ignacio Carrion (201-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Los Leones players scored in double figures. American forward Kyle Kilgore (201-93, college: Dakota St., agency: BIG) replied with 11 points and guard Ronald Cruces (177-87) added 10 points in the effort for Temuco. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Los Leones maintains second position with 7-1 record behind leader Puerto Varas. Temuco at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Los Leones will play against Castro (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Temuco will play against Espanol de Talca (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
