Everything went according to plan when second ranked CAO Ceres (12-2) outleveled at home 6th ranked Ameghino (8-8) 93-66 on Wednesday. CAO Ceres made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. CAO Ceres outrebounded Ameghino 46-30 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when CAO Ceres made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Matias Martinez (195-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Edgardo Torne (198-1989) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Five CAO Ceres players scored in double figures. Power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-1988) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Jeremias Frontera (186-2000) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CAO Ceres maintains second position with 12-2 record having just one point less than leader Independ.O. Ameghino lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Rivadavia and Salta Basket. CAO Ceres will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ameghino will play against San Isidro (#3) in San Francisco and hope to secure a win.
