There was a small surprise in Mogi das Cruzes where sixteenth ranked Mogi (7-16) outscored 14th ranked Cerrado (7-15) 87-67 on Thursday. They outrebounded Cerrado 44-33 including a 35-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Mogi looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Guilherme Lessa (178-1995) who scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Wesley Ferreira (200-1995) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Romulo Gusmao (208-1995) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Kenny Dawkins (172-1987, college: Lamar) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mogi maintains sixteenth place with 7-16 record. Loser Cerrado dropped to the fifteenth position with 15 games lost.
