Regular Season Round 24: Olimpia - Penarol 74-81

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Penarol (#5) and Olimpia (#7). Olimpia was defeated at home 74-81 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a good game for American John Flowers (200-1989, college: WVU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. International guard Diego Garcia (186-1992) contributed with 11 points and 6 assists for the winners. Penarol's coach Pablo Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international point guard Brian Garcia (182-1990) replied with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American Brandon Nazione (202-1994, college: EMU, agency: Players Group) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Olimpia. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Penarol maintains fifth position with 12-8 record. Olimpia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 11 games lost.
