No shocking result in a game when third ranked Gimnasia (19-8) beat 16th ranked Comunicaciones (8-18) in Comodoro Rivadavia 88-83 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gimnasia made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by the former international Sebastian Vega (200-1988) who scored that evening 21 points and 4 assists and American guard Marcus Elliott (191-1984, college: Louisiana Tech) supported him with 24 points. Five Gimnasia players scored in double figures. His fellow American import Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) added 23 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Gimnasia maintains third position with 19-8 record behind leader Quimsa. Loser Comunicaciones keeps the sixteenth place with 18 games lost. Gimnasia will meet at home Instituto (#6) in the next round.
