Regular Season Round 25: O.Mundial - Penarol 52-61
Date: March 3, 2022
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Penarol (#5) and O.Mundial (#10). O.Mundial was defeated at home 52-61 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of American John Flowers (200-1989, college: WVU) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Martin Aguilera (195-1987, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Penarol's coach Pablo Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Brazilian center Pedro Ianguas (210-1998) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Anthony Danridge (196-1986, college: N.Mexico) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for O.Mundial. Penarol maintains fifth place with 13-8 record. O.Mundial lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
