Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Bigua (#2) and Capitol (#14). Capitol was crushed at home by 19 points 78-97. Bigua shot 19 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Capitol only scored two points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners and Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side the former international forward Demian Alvarez (193-1984, agency: Pro Sports) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Argentinian Eduardo Gamboa (189-1984) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bigua (17-3) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place behind leader Goes. Capitol lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Bigua's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Goes.
