Very expected game in Santa Fe where 13th ranked Colon SF (4-15) was crushed by sixth ranked Ameghino (11-8) 95-69 on Saturday. Ameghino dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Colon SF's 36. They outrebounded Colon SF 46-30 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ameghino looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-1988) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Gregorio Eseverri (194-1986) produced 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Matias Cueva (185-1997) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Colon SF players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ameghino. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Rivadavia.
