Regular Season Round 30: Cerrado - Corinthians 86-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked Cerrado's (9-17) home victory over 14th ranked Corinthians (9-17) 86-80 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Argentinian point guard Stefano Pierotti (185-1998) who scored 15 points and 8 assists. American point guard Kenny Dawkins (172-1987, college: Lamar) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Lucas Siewert (208-1997, college: Colorado) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and guard Pedro Nunes (197-2000) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Cerrado and five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cerrado maintains thirteenth position with 9-17 record, which they share with defeated Corinthians. Cerrado will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Corinthians will play against Fortaleza (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
