Regular Season Round 30: Rio Claro - Flamengo 79-99
Date: March 7, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Rio Claro (9-15) was rolled over at home by third ranked Flamengo (19-4) 99-79 on Monday. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Tulio Da Silva (203-1996, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 14 points. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jamaal Smith (176-1985, college: N.Mexico) who recorded 20 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and point guard Cassiano Bueno (187-1997) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 19-4 record having seven points less than leader Sesi Franca. Rio Claro lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Flamengo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rio Claro will play against the league's leader Vivo/Franca (#1) and hope to secure a win.
