Very expected game in Montevideo where 9th ranked Defensor (8-14) was defeated by fifth ranked Penarol (14-8) 74-66 on Friday. It was a great evening for American center Lee Roberts (203-1987, college: Findlay, OH) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import John Flowers (200-1989, college: WVU) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international center Hatila Passos (211-1985, college: NM State) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Gustavo Barrera (194-1985) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Penarol. They maintain fifth place with 14-8 record. Loser Defensor dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Hebraica. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena .
