Very expected game when 13th ranked Temuco (1-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Puerto Varas (9-4) 85-79. Puerto Varas outrebounded Temuco 47-27 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The former international guard Franco Morales (179-1992) nailed a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds, 15 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and Panamanian forward Pablo Rivas (198-1994, college: NCCU) accounted for 26 points and 7 rebounds. Rivas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. American forward Ron Lawton (196-1995, college: NMHU) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Felipe Acuna (182-1992) added 18 points respectively for Temuco in the defeat. Temuco's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Puerto Varas keep a position of league leader. Temuco at the other side stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Puerto Varas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
