Regular Season Round 13: Tinguiririca - Catolica 70-89

There was a minor upset in San Fernando where 10th ranked Tinguiririca (3-7) was rolled over by twelfth ranked Universidad Catolica (2-5) 89-70. Universidad Catolica dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tinguiririca's 42. They outrebounded Tinguiririca 46-33 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and point guard Pablo Allegrini (-2000) accounted for 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Universidad Catolica players scored in double figures. DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-1990, college: ACU) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-1986) added 25 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Tinguiririca in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Universidad Catolica moved-up to eleventh place. Tinguiririca lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
