Regular Season Round 6: Lobas - Atleticas 86-69

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lobas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lobas defeated 3rd ranked Atleticas in Ciudad de Mexico 86-69. Lobas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Atleticas' 42. The best player for the winners was Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) who had a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. The former international swingman Ingrid Martinez (175-1995) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Lobas' coach Israel Zermeno used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican center Yamile Rodriguez (188-1994, college: ETSU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the former international point guard Abril Roldan (168-2002) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Atleticas players scored in double figures. Lobas (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Mieleras. Atleticas at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Mexcaltecas and Quetzales. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
