An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ciudad de Mexico. Fourth ranked Quetzales faced their close opponent Barreteras. Host Quetzales (3-3) defeated guests from Zacatecas (0-6) 79-73. Quetzales made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Quetzales outrebounded Barreteras 47-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Sarai Morales chipped in 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Quetzales' coach Gerardo Sanchez let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Megan Garcia (173, agency: Gamble Sports Management) with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Alma Dominguez scored 17 points and 5 steals. Despite that victory Quetzales went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Atleticas and Mexcaltecas. Loser Barreteras still closes the standings with six games lost. Quetzales will meet league's second-placed Las Plebes in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Barreteras will play against Escaramuzas in Jalisco and hope to get finally their first victory.
