Regular Season Round 28: Malvin - O.Mundial 85-71
Date: March 14, 2022
Very expected game when 12th ranked O.Mundial (7-16) lost to sixth ranked Malvin (13-10) in Montevideo 71-85 on Monday. Malvin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by the former international point guard Juan Santiso (185-1994) who scored that evening 17 points and 4 assists and naturalized German center Kiril Wachsmann (203-1984, college: Iona) supported him with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Malvin's coach Federico Camina used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by American point guard Justin Pierce (193-1990, college: Averett) did not help to save the game for O.Mundial. His fellow American import forward Anthony Danridge (196-1986, college: N.Mexico) added 14 points and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Malvin maintains sixth position with 13-10 record. O.Mundial lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Malvin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Penarol.
