There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Riachuelo LR (13-17) lost to fourteenth ranked Platense (12-19) in La Rioja 69-87 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for Felipe Pais (183-1990) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Swingman Lucas Goldenberg (190-1993) accounted for 7 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. Forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-1989) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Selem Safar (191-1987) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Riachuelo LR in the defeat. Platense maintains fourteenth place with 12-19 record. Riachuelo LR lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Platense will meet higher ranked Olimpico (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Riachuelo LR will play against Union SF and hope to secure a win.
