Regular Season Round 32: Atenas - Obera 109-101

There was an upset in Cordoba where higher ranked Obera (16-15) was defeated by eighteenth ranked Atenas (10-20) 109-101 on Saturday. Atenas shot 61.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Atenas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Latraius Mosley (198-1990, college: Life) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (205-1982) chipped in 20 points. Atenas' coach Sebastian Saborido allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) produced 29 points and 6 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import forward Samuel Givens (197-1989, college: Drexel) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Five Atenas and four Obera players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Atenas went down to nineteenth position due to points difference. Obera lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Olimpico. Atenas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obera will play against Riachuelo LR (#11) in La Rioja and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
