The most exciting game of round 29 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Bigua (20-4) to fifth ranked Penarol (15-9) 93-91 on Saturday evening. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center Lee Roberts (203-1987, college: Findlay, OH) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Salvador Zanotta (185-1995) chipped in 11 points and 13 assists. Penarol's coach Pablo Lopez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Santiago Vidal (180-1989, agency: Pro Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds, 14 assists and 4 steals and international forward Martin Rojas (195-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Bigua players scored in double figures. Penarol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 15-9 record. Defending champion Bigua keeps the second position with four games lost. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Trouville.
