Regular Season Round 32: Riachuelo LR - Union SF 86-80
Date: March 19, 2022
Everything went according to plan in La Rioja where twelfth ranked Riachuelo LR (14-17) beat 19th ranked Union SF (11-21) 86-80 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Pablo Espinoza (201-1987) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international forward Selem Safar (191-1987) chipped in 17 points. Cuban center Pedro Bombino (206-2000, agency: Pro Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Four Riachuelo LR and five Union SF players scored in double figures. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Riachuelo LR moved-up to eleventh place. Union SF at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighteenth position with 21 games lost. Riachuelo LR will meet at home higher ranked Obera (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Union SF will play against Instituto (#5) in Cordoba and hope to secure a win.
