The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Los Leones as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Los Leones smashed 11th ranked Tinguiririca in Quilpue 98-67. Los Leones forced 22 Tinguiririca turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican forward Justin Satchell (203-1995, college: St.Leo) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 7 assists and the former international forward Darrol Jones (193-1994) who added 19 points and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-1990, college: ACU) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and the former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-1986) scored 15 points and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Puente Alto. Tinguiririca lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. Tinguiririca will play next round against Espanol de Talca trying to get back on the winning streak. Los Leones will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Puente Alto at home.
