Regular Season Round 33: San Martin - Ferro 73-77

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Corrientes where 5th ranked San Martin (20-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Ferro (20-13) 77-73 on Thursday. Power forward Eduardo Vasirani (206-1991) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Rodrigo Gallegos (186-1991) chipped in 16 points. Ferro's coach Federico Fernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was international Javier Saiz (206-1994) with 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and point guard Jonatan Machuca (184-1989) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Instituto. Loser San Martin dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. Ferro will meet La Union (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. San Martin will have a break next round.
