There was no surprise when 12th ranked Corinthians (10-20) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Sao Paulo (21-7) 88-67 on Saturday. Sao Paulo outrebounded Corinthians 43-28 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international Bruno Caboclo (206-1995) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-1988, college: Valdosta St.) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. At the losing side Argentinian point guard Diego Figueredo (180-1991, agency: BIG) responded with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Renato Carbonari (202-1987) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sao Paulo have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 21-7 record. Corinthians lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 20 games lost.
