Regular Season Round 18: Catolica - Talca 66-78

Bottom-ranked Espanol de Talca managed to get a third victory, breaking the nine-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against tenth-ranked Universidad Catolica in Santiago 78-66. The best player for the winners was American forward TJ Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Venezuelan center Sergio Mijares (-1997) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds and Argentinian forward Lucas Diaz (198-1992) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Espanol de Talca (3-13) moved-up to twelfth place. Universidad Catolica lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Espanol de Talca are looking forward to face higher ranked Puente Alto (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Universidad Catolica will play against Las Animas (#5) in Valdivia and is hoping to win this game.
