Regular Season Round 64: Ameghino - Jachal 109-75

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Ameghino (15-9) outplayed 15th ranked Jachal (3-22) in Villa Maria 109-75 on Monday. Ameghino dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Jachal's 42. They outrebounded Jachal 42-23 including 30 on the defensive glass. Ameghino looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Jachal's players. The winners were led by power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-1988) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds and Mateo Beigier (187-2001) supported him with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 28 points and 8 rebounds by Cuban power forward Marlon Diaz (200-1998) did not help to save the game for Jachal. Swingman Julio Carrizo (191-1993) added 14 points for lost side. Four Jachal players scored in double figures. Ameghino have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Jachal lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 22 games lost. Ameghino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jachal will play against Dep Norte (#11) in Armstrong and hope to secure a win.
