No shocking result in a game in Montevideo where eleventh ranked Hebraica (9-16) smashed bottom-ranked Capitol (2-23) 104-71 on Monday. Hebraica dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Capitol's 32. Hebraica forced 25 Capitol turnovers and outrebounded them 38-20 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American center Gerard DeVaughn (205-1988, college: Stillman) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Spanish center Esteban Batista (206-1983, agency: Duran International) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Hebraica players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian Eduardo Gamboa (189-1984) with 19 points and 5 assists and forward Matias Acosta (200-1999) scored 12 points.
