Ninth-ranked Defensor (10-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Bigua (21-4) in Montevideo. Bigua managed to secure only one-point victory 83-82. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Defensor. Bigua made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) who saved his team from a defeat with 31 points and 7 assists. Guard Santiago Vidal (180-1989, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American guard Rodney Green (197-1988, college: La Salle) replied with 22 points and point guard Marcos Cabot (180-1989) added 10 points and 8 assists in the effort for Defensor. Defending champion used an opportunity after Goes lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Defensor at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Bigua's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo O.Mundial.
