Undefeated leader Sampaio delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Vera Cruz (3-2) 87-64. Sampaio made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Sampaio outrebounded Vera Cruz 48-26 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Gabriela De Paula (180-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. The former international swingman Patty Teixeira (175-1990) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Sampaio players scored in double figures. Forward Adrielly Oliveira (193-2002) replied with 13 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Tassia Carcavalli (176-1992) added 14 points in the effort for Vera Cruz. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sampaio (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row, which they share with Sesi/Arara. Vera Cruz at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost.
