Regular Season Round 31: Defensor - Trouville 90-106

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Trouville (#8) and Defensor (#10). Defensor was crushed at home by 16 points 90-106 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Trouville looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Dwayne Davis (196-1989, college: Southern Miss) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The former international center Gonzalo Iglesias (201-1993) accounted for 23 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) for the winning side. Fernando Verrone (201-1988) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Hatila Passos (211-1985, college: NM State) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Defensor in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trouville (13-13) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Defensor keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost.
