Very important is a road loss of third ranked Penarol (23-12) against fifth ranked Ferro (21-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Penarol was defeated by Ferro in Buenos Aires 90-78. Ferro outrebounded Penarol 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Jonatan Torresi (190-1994) who scored 23 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Power forward Eduardo Vasirani (206-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ferro's coach Federico Fernandez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Tevin Glass (206-1994, college: ETSU, agency: BIG) produced 26 points and Bruno Sansimoni (194-1996) added 14 points and 11 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro maintains fifth place with 21-14 record. Penarol lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 12 games lost. Ferro will meet Platense (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Penarol will have a break next round.
