Regular Season Round 20: UdeC - Puente Alto 90-87

The most exciting game of round 20 in the Liga Nacional took place in Concepcion. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Puente Alto (11-6) to first ranked Universidad de Concepcion (14-2) 90-87 on Sunday evening. Universidad de Concepcion made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jerry Evans (203-1990, college: Nevada) who scored 30 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Diego Silva (186-1993) chipped in 22 points, 8 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-1989) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-1983) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for the guests. Five Universidad de Concepcion and four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Universidad de Concepcion are looking forward to face Castro (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Puente Alto will have a break next round.
