Regular Season Round 20: Puerto Varas - Tinguiririca 115-96

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Tinguiririca (4-13) was crushed on the road by second ranked Puerto Varas (14-5) 115-96. Puerto Varas outrebounded Tinguiririca 44-29 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Tinguiririca's players. The former international guard Franco Morales (179-1992) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 19 assists. Dominican guard Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) contributed with 36 points (!!!) for the winners. Five Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. Guard Matias Sepulveda (-1995) replied with 31 points and DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-1990, college: ACU) added 22 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Tinguiririca. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Varas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record having just three point less than leader UdeC. Tinguiririca lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
