We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Tijuana Zonkeys were defeated on the road by Rayos de Hermosillo 107-96 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Turkish center Alihan Demir (206-1996, college: Minnesota) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Jaime Johnson (183, college: Guilford) produced 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import Tonzell Handy (196, college: Tougaloo) added 20 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Rayos de Hermosillo and five Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rayos de Hermosillo will meet Halcones de Ciudad Obregon on the road in the next round. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
