There was a small surprise in Villa Maria where sixth ranked Ameghino (17-9) won against 4th ranked CAO Ceres (19-8) 90-86 on Wednesday. Ameghino forced 21 CAO Ceres turnovers. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Tomas Allende (190-2002) chipped in 17 points. Four Ameghino players scored in double figures. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Matias Martinez (195-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and Jorge Banegas (190-1993, agency: BIG) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ameghino have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser CAO Ceres still keeps top position with eight games lost. They share it with Dep Viedma. Ameghino will meet at home Independiente (#8) in the next round. CAO Ceres will play against Dep Norte (#11) in Armstrong and hope to secure a win.
