Not a big story in a game in Cordoba where 18th ranked Gimnasia CR (5-30) was rolled over by eleventh ranked Atenas (17-17) 92-53 on Wednesday. Atenas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnasia CR's 20. Atenas forced 19 Gimnasia CR turnovers and outrebounded them 54-32 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Ecuadorian guard Erick Mecias (184-2003) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Maximo Lomelo (201-2005) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Atenas players scored in double figures. Atenas' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Ramiro Stehli (190-2002) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and center Leandro Fogel (201-2000) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Atenas moved-up to tenth place. Gimnasia CR at the other side keeps the eighteenth position with 30 games lost. Atenas are looking forward to face Olimpico (#11) in La Banda in the next round. Gimnasia CR will play on the road against Riachuelo LR (#15) in La Rioja and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
