Regular Season Round 21: Ancud - Las Animas 75-71

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Las Animas (11-8) lost on the road to eighth ranked Ancud (10-8) 75-71 on Wednesday. Ancud made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) nailed a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and international Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds. Ancud's coach Emiliano Cuchetti used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Claudio Naranjo (191-1987) came up with 23 points and American forward Charles Funches III (203-1988, college: Hampton) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Las Animas in the defeat. Ancud have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Valdivia. Las Animas at the other side keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Ancud will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Las Animas will play against Puente Alto (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
