Regular Season Round 21: Puerto Montt - Temuco 113-65

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Temuco (2-16) was outscored on the road by ninth ranked Puerto Montt (9-9) 113-65 on Friday. Puerto Montt dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Temuco's 42. Puerto Montt forced 20 Temuco turnovers and outrebounded them 43-18 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Temuco's players. Italian-Argentinian point guard Diego Gerbaudo (178-1989) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists for the winning side and American center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) accounted for 26 points and 8 rebounds. Five Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Swingman Jose Fuentes (197-1990) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Rodrigo Munoz (186-1980) added 7 points and 9 assists respectively for Temuco in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Puerto Montt maintains ninth place with 9-9 record. Temuco lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Puerto Montt will meet at home league's leader Universidad de Concepcion in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Temuco will play against Universidad Catolica (#10) in Santiago and hope to secure a win.
