The game between second ranked Gimnasia (24-12) and fourth ranked Instituto (24-13) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Gimnasia was defeated by Instituto in Cordoba 81-91. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Instituto outrebounded Gimnasia 39-27 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Spanish center Antoni Vicens (204-1990, agency: Duran International) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Instituto's coach Lucas Victoriano used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Sebastian Vega (200-1988) answered with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and American guard Marcus Elliott (191-1984, college: Louisiana Tech) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Gimnasia. Five Instituto and four Gimnasia players scored in double figures. Instituto have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Gimnasia lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with 12 games lost. Instituto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gimnasia will play on the road against Riachuelo LR in La Rioja and is hoping to win this game.
