Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Puente Alto (12-7) defeated at home 7th ranked Deportivo Valdivia (10-8) 90-74 on Saturday. Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-1992) nailed 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-1983) accounted for 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Puente Alto's coach Pablo Ares used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Francisco Bravo (174-1987) came up with 11 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Cameron Naylor (202-1994, college: Texas St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Deportivo Valdivia in the defeat. Four Puente Alto and five Deportivo Valdivia players scored in double figures. Puente Alto maintains fourth place with 12-7 record. Deportivo Valdivia at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Ancud. Puente Alto will meet at home Las Animas (#5) in the next round. Deportivo Valdivia will play against Castro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
